Water management in agricultural areas is of major importance, especially in regions prone to water shortages and drought episodes. The issue of water consumption is particularly prevalent in agriculture, as evidenced by water usage restrictions implemented each summer.
A more rational use of water is beginning to emerge through precision irrigation systems, drip irrigation and soil moisture monitoring to avoid any form of waste due to over-watering.
In the context of sustainable and resilient agriculture, and to face climate change, agricultural actors are mobilizing to implement innovative and operational water management solutions. Nevertheless, optimizing water requires the implementation of tools to prioritize water turns and optimize the amount of water while maintaining yields.
OUR SOLUTION
A decision support tool
for irrigation management
Since 2021, TerraNIS has been marketing a decision support tool for irrigation management based on a water balance model, enriched with ssatellite images, plot and meteorological data. This service estimates crop water needs to prevent water stress and optimize irrigation practices.
Pixagri Irrigation has been designed by and for farmers and technicians to be as ergonomic and user-friendly as possible. The service is now available via a web platform and a mobile application for simplified viewing and information entry in the field:
- Monitor and modify the meteorological and agronomic parameters of your plots.
- Monitor vegetation development by tracking biophysical parameters derived from satellite imagery.
- Manage daily indicators (water deficit, evapotranspiration…).
- Be alerted by SMS or email in case of water stress on your plots and receive irrigation dose recommendations.
- Share notes with your collaborators for easier work in the field.
